Senior Planner – Primavera P6 Client: National Gas Networks (NGN) Duration: Until 31 August 2027 (planned FEED completion) Time Commitment: Approximately 1 day per week initially, reducing to 0.5 day per week thereafter Seniority: Senior Planner or equivalent Software: Primavera P6 (essential); Microsoft Project (desirable) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support the delivery of a FEED programme for National Gas Networks (NGN). The successful candidate will take ownership of the project programme, initially supporting a re-baseline following recent compensation events and establishing a consistent weekly programme update cycle. This is a part-time assignment requiring approximately one day per week during November and December, reducing to around half a day per week thereafter, in line with the planning allowance within the contract. The role will be client-facing, with NGN closely scrutinising programme submissions and logic. The successful candidate must therefore be confident managing programme updates, engaging with work-package leads and explaining and defending programme logic. Key Responsibilities Maintain and manage the project programme using Primavera P6. Lead the re-baselining of the programme following recent compensation events. Establish and maintain a structured weekly programme update cycle. Run weekly progress sessions with individual work-package leads. Obtain and validate progress updates, dependencies and forecast completion dates. Challenge work-package leads where necessary to ensure accurate and realistic programme information. Identify programme risks, delays, dependencies and potential impacts on key milestones. Take ownership of programme integrity and ensure the schedule is maintained accurately. Support the preparation of Clause 31 programme submissions for acceptance. Work with Microsoft Project programmes where required, including supporting their conversion into P6. Present, explain and defend programme logic and updates during client-facing discussions with NGN. Essential Requirements Proven experience working as a Senior Planner or in an equivalent planning position. Strong, demonstrable experience using Primavera P6. Experience developing, maintaining and re-baselining project programmes. Ability to manage programme updates and challenge progress information effectively. Experience managing dependencies, forecast dates, milestones and programme logic. Confident stakeholder management and communication skills. Comfortable leading progress meetings and engaging directly with work-package leads. Able to work autonomously, take ownership and operate without detailed day-to-day direction. Confident presenting and defending programme logic to clients. Desirable Experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Project. Experience preparing Clause 31 programme submissions. Experience working within FEED projects. Experience in gas networks, utilities or major infrastructure projects. Familiarity with compensation events and programme re-baselining. Working Commitment and Duration November–December: Approximately 1 day per week to support programme re-baselining and establish the weekly update process. Thereafter: Approximately 0.5 day per week. Duration: Through to the end of FEED, with planned completion currently scheduled for 31 August 2027. Important: Primavera P6 experience is essential. The priority is finding someone proactive, confident and capable of taking ownership of the programme, rather than focusing solely on job title or grade
