Requirements

  • Active DV clearance or lapsed DV clearance is required due to the sensitive nature of the project.
  • Strong experience designing, configuring, and supporting network virtualisation platforms such as NSX or similar.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, the OSI model, and routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, Qo S, VPNs, and VLANs.
  • Network virtualisation experience, including NSX-T design, configuration, and support of NSX-based networking environments.
  • Experience with software-defined networking, including logical switching, routing, and micro‑segmentation.
  • Experience integrating NSX networking within virtualised and platform environments such as VCF.
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco or equivalent multi‑vendor network equipment.
  • Experience with network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, and segmentation.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation and cloud networking concepts.
  • Experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools.
  • Understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks.
  • Experience delivering within secure, enterprise, or defence environments.
  • Desirable: VMware NSX‑T deep expertise and certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: VCF networking integration experience across v Sphere, v SAN, and Aria Suite.
  • Desirable: Understanding of overlay and underlay network design concepts.
  • Desirable: Experience automating network configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or APIs.
  • Desirable: Experience integrating with security tooling such as SIEM and SOC platforms.
  • Desirable: Cloud networking experience across AWS and Azure, including hybrid connectivity.
  • Desirable: Experience working in highly secure or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and support network virtualisation solutions such as VMware NSX within secure and enterprise environments.
  • Take ownership of engineering delivery for one or more work packages, including planning, estimation, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and review high‑level and low‑level network designs and technical documentation.
  • Integrate and test network components, ensuring compliance with performance and security requirements.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical leadership to Network Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, project teams, and customers to ensure solutions meet requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement and contribute to engineering standards and governance.
  • Lead the resolution of complex customer challenges in an agile, innovative, and collaborative environment.
  • Engage closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and customers to ensure successful delivery of secure networking solutions.
