Senior Cyber Risk Manager - £800-£850 per day - Inside IR35 - Primarily remote - 6 Months intial contract

We are supporting a leading nuclear energy organisation on the appointment of an experienced Senior Cyber Risk Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile cyber function, helping to shape and mature enterprise cyber risk management within a highly regulated environment.

This role would suit someone who has operated at a senior level within financial services or another highly regulated industry and is comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, technology teams and business leaders to ensure cyber risk is understood, managed and embedded across the organisation.

Candidates holding active SC Clearance, or those whose clearance has recently lapsed, will be given priority.

What you'll be doing - Lead the identification, assessment and management of cyber risks across the organisation.

Develop and maintain the enterprise cyber risk framework, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Provide expert guidance on cyber risk to senior leadership, programme teams and key stakeholders.

Support major technology and business transformation programmes by ensuring cyber risk is identified and managed throughout delivery.

Own and maintain cyber risk registers, reporting and governance processes.

Drive cyber risk assessments for projects, suppliers and third parties.

Produce high-quality reporting and present cyber risk posture to governance forums and executive stakeholders.

Work closely with Security Operations, Architecture, Technology and Compliance teams to ensure risks are effectively mitigated.

Monitor emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and regulatory changes, translating these into practical risk management activities.

Promote a strong cyber risk culture across the organisation.

What were looking for - Proven experience as a Senior Cyber Risk Manager, Cyber Risk Lead or similar position.

Strong background within a highly regulated industry, ideally financial services.

Extensive knowledge of enterprise cyber risk management and governance.

Excellent understanding of recognised security and risk frameworks, including: NIST Cyber Security Framework ISO 27001 CIS Controls COBIT FAIR (desirable) Good understanding of financial services regulation and cyber-related requirements such as FCA, PRA, DORA and NIS2.

Experience managing third-party and supplier cyber risk.

Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex cyber risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong analytical skills with experience producing executive-level reporting.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable - Active SC Clearance or recently lapsed SC Clearance.

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.

Experience supporting large-scale cloud or digital transformation programmes.

Knowledge of Azure, AWS or hybrid cloud security risk.
