We are seeking an experienced Senior Avionic Systems Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting the development, integration and certification of advanced airborne systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace programmes, contributing across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in avionics systems engineering within the aerospace or defence sector.
Experience with avionics navigation systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities throughout the full product lifecycle, from requirements capture through to verification and validation.
- Develop and manage system requirements, architectures and interface definitions.
- Produce and maintain systems engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, interface control documents and verification plans.
- Support system integration, testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct requirements analysis, trade studies and design reviews.
- Work closely with hardware, software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Support safety, reliability and certification activities in accordance with applicable aerospace standards.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are achieved.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers where required.

- Significant experience in avionics systems engineering within aerospace or defence.
- Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience developing system requirements and managing requirements using industry-standard tools.
- Knowledge of systems integration and verification methodologies.
- Experience producing high-quality technical documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable
- Experience with avionics navigation systems (GNSS, INS, GPS, Flight Management Systems or related navigation technologies).
- Knowledge of ARINC standards, MIL-STD interfaces or other aerospace communication protocols.
- Familiarity with aerospace safety standards such as ARP4754A, ARP4761 and DO-178C/DO-254.
- Experience supporting aircraft certification programmes.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience using Sys ML or similar tools.
- Experience with IBM DOORS or equivalent requirements management software
