We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to support ongoing project delivery at the Sellafield site full time (37 hours). This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical writing capability and proven experience within the nuclear sector. The position sits within a regulated environment, requiring a high level of accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established processes and standards.
Nuclear experience essential
SC clearance highly desirable but candidates can start with BPSS security clearance whilst higher level clearance is being undertaken. You should be British Citizens and passport holders and not have worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Produce high quality technical documentation in line with Sellafield Ltd standards and nuclear industry requirements.
- Take a proactive role in the validation process, ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Actively engage with engineers, SMEs, and operational teams to gather information, clarify technical content, and drive validation forward.
- Provide input into the risk assessment process, supporting the development and review of project related safety and hazard documentation.
- Support the creation, compilation, and formatting of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, ensuring structured, clear and compliant outputs.
- Manage document updates, revisions, and control through Sellafield systems as required.
- Ensure all documentation complies with nuclear regulatory expectations, internal governance, and project requirements.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrable experience as a Technical Author within the nuclear industry.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety, regulatory expectations, and site documentation processes.
- Ability to work on site full time within a complex stakeholder environment.
- Excellent written communication skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Familiarity with Sellafield documentation systems and approval processes.
