The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

3-6 Month contract initially Field based around the Fife area. Vehicle will be provided. You must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points. 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. There will be a need to attend a drug and alcohol test at a testing centre in Glasgow prior to starting.

Role Objective:

  • Take responsibility and accountability for the performance and maintenance of the sites where you are designated as site champion, ensuring water level compliance, consent level compliance and site standard audit scores increase over the period.
  • Ensure all data requirements are submitted within time frame.
  • Ensure lone worker policy is adhered to with a minimum of one log on per day.
  • Report Haz spots as and when found on site. Resolve where possible or provide sufficient information to allow follow on work to be completed.
  • Sampling to be sent back or delivered back to labs within 3 days maximum of being collected, to ensure that they do not become deviant.
  • Support Operations manager in delivering additional works over and above base contract.
  • Possibly cover out of hours standby on a 4 to 6 weekly rota to be ready to respond to site breakdowns.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Routine Treatment water sampling.
  • Ability to identify and relay the correct information to enable effective follow on work and repairs.
  • Daily Recording of Data.
  • Identifying and reporting H&S hazards on site.
  • Follow H&S procedures.
  • Analysis of Data to identify potential issues.
  • Site housekeeping.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient running of the Treatment Plant.
  • Using IT systems software to report daily performance of Treatment Plant.
  • Participate in a 24hr stand-by rota.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Operate and maintain chemical dosing systems.
  • First line diagnostics of electrical and mechanical assets.
  • Clear blockages, channels and other elements of a Passive Treatment Scheme.
  • Liaise and assist contractors onsite.
  • Make minor repairs to fencing and guard rails onsite.
  • Carry out minor grounds maintenance works.

Experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the mine water treatment process is desirable.
  • Good use of IT systems.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Health and Safety.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory and Sample analysis is desirable.
