Our client Dounreay are currently looking for a Technical writer/Technical Author to join their team based in Thurso on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Technical Author/Writer with a relevant background.
A temporary vacancy exists within Waste Operations & Logistics for a Technical Writer based within D1208 supporting the adoption of a revised facility Safety Case following a licence condition review. This is a highly visible role where your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining compliance, enhancing safety standards, and ensuring critical documentation is accurate, consistent, and fit for purpose.
What you'll be doing:
- Be the focal point for the revision and update of facility written instructions in line with the revised Safety Case
- Implement and manage document changes, ensuring compliance with (K)SRE, (K)SMR and OAs requirements
- Conduct quality and compliance checks, working closely with stakeholders and carrying out plant walkdowns
What you'll bring:
- Strong technical writing capability combined with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear, structured documentation
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with document systems and software packages
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word templates and styles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs and collaborating effectively within a team
