Our Client is looking to recruit experienced Project Managers to join our growing Manchester team. Following a recent team change and continued project demand, we have opportunities for up to two Project Managers, including a senior-level hire with strong experience in high voltage (HV) infrastructure and multi-disciplinary project delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking team delivering complex infrastructure projects across HV design, substations, and grid connections.
The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of HV infrastructure projects from concept through to construction and commissioning. You will work across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HV design and infrastructure projects from initiation through to completion
- Manage project programmes, budgets, and resource planning
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across civil, electrical, and design functions
- Review and oversee engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, IEEE) and client requirements
- Act as the key interface with clients, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and project changes
- Oversee procurement of HV equipment and key project resources
- Support construction and commissioning activities with technical oversight
- Champion health, safety, and environmental (HSE) best practice
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering infrastructure or energy projects
- Strong experience working on HV projects (typically 132kV–400kV)
- Background in either electrical/HV design or civil construction (both advantageous)
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary project environments
- Strong commercial awareness and delivery focus
- Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in HV design and/or infrastructure project delivery
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project (or similar)
- Knowledge of UK grid codes and utility standards (desirable)
- Professional certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) beneficial
- Experience supporting renewable or grid connection projects is advantageous
