£27.00 Umbrella / £20.18 PAYE per Hour | 6-Month Contract Specialist equipment. Essential maintenance. A contract where attention to detail directly supports aircraft readiness. Morson Edge is looking for an experienced Aircraft Survival Equipment Technician to support a specialist Role Equipment Bay within an established aerospace maintenance operation. Offering £27.00 per hour Umbrella or £20.18 PAYE , this six-month contract provides the opportunity to apply your technical experience to the servicing, inspection and maintenance of critical aircraft survival and role-specific equipment. Working alongside experienced workshop personnel, you'll help maintain equipment availability, safety and compliance within a busy aviation environment.
The Role
You'll work under the guidance of the Role Bay Coordinator and Head of Workshops, carrying out maintenance and servicing activities in accordance with approved procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
Servicing chemical oxygen generators in accordance with OEM instructions. Inspecting, repacking and maintaining life vests and survival equipment. Performing daily servicing of Class 3 role equipment. Applying corrosion prevention compounds to relevant components. Recording maintenance activity accurately using digital systems. Maintaining compliance with safety, quality and technical standards. Supporting continuous improvement and 6S workplace practices.
What We're Looking For
You'll need practical experience maintaining aircraft survival equipment, life support equipment or specialist role equipment , alongside a recognised apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance, survival equipment or an equivalent military/civilian qualification. Relevant backgrounds include Survival Equipment Technician, Survival Equipment Fitter, Aircraft Equipment Technician, Aircrew Equipment Technician or Life Support Equipment Technician . Experience interpreting technical publications and maintaining accurate digital records is essential. Previous military aviation or defence MRO experience is desirable, particularly on A400M or similar military transport aircraft . Technical precision. Equipment readiness.
