Location: Construction site based 3x days per week AND 2x days per week working remotely/from home (tbc)

Morson Edge are working on behalf of a major player in the Energy sector who have a current contract requirement for a Quality Engineer to join our client's established site team for work associated with a Nuclear New Build in Somerset. This is a great opportunity to consolidate your existing knowledge and gain unique experience working on Europe's largest construction/infrastructure Project.

Typical accountabilities:

  • Support the development of quality (QA/QC) arrangements for deployment across the Project.
  • Support arrangements/updates associated with:
    • Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) and Project Quality Assurance Control Plans (PCAPs)
    • Manufacturing surveillance and inspections
    • Non-Conformance Report (NCR) Management
    • Quality reporting and metrics

Who's the Ideal Candidate?

Key Skills & Experience:

  • You will typically have had previous experience of Project delivery and have a solid understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (codes and standards), within major projects or organisations (relevant safety critical/highly regulated industry).
  • You will be able to confidently interface between Project teams and with supply chain organisations.
  • You will be able to accurately prepare reports, make recommendations and provide data analysis.
  • You will be pro-active, flexible and be able to plan and work on your own initiative.

Other:

  • Knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes.
  • Knowledge of Welding, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • An HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.

Desirable:

  • Working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute & Chartered Quality Professional.
