Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer / Cost Controller/Project Control Manager/Project Controller or Project Control Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on some of the UK's most high-profile and complex infrastructure programmes across rail, aviation, and utilities sectors.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of major projects for key clients including HS2, Heathrow, Gatwick Airport, Thames Water, Southern Water, and Anglian Water. This is an excellent opportunity for a Cost Engineer / Cost Controller/Project Control Manager/Project Controller or Project Control Engineer with strong infrastructure project experience looking to develop their career within a leading global consultancy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts
- Monitor project expenditure and track performance against baseline budgets
- Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and earned value analysis
- Support project controls and financial governance across major programmes
- Identify cost risks, trends, and opportunities, proposing mitigation measures where required
- Assist with change control and cost impact assessments
- Work collaboratively with project managers, planners, commercial teams, and stakeholders
- Review contractor cost submissions, estimates, and variations
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal teams and clients
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within cost engineering and project controls
- Proven experience as a Cost Engineer / Cost Controller/Project Control Manager/Project Controller or Project Control Engineer within infrastructure projects
- Background working on major projects within:
- Rail
- Aviation
- Water / Utilities
- Civil Infrastructure
- Experience supporting projects for clients such as HS2, Heathrow, Gatwick, Thames Water, Southern Water, or Anglian Water is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Familiarity with project controls principles and earned value management (EVM)
- Experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Primavera P6, SAP, or equivalent
- Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Finance, or related discipline preferred.
