We’re looking for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead the delivery of challenging projects across the Nuclear Energy sector. You’ll work on everything from concept studies to detailed design, producing high-quality electrical engineering deliverables while guiding and mentoring junior engineers.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead electrical design packages – analysis, calculations, reports, specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and client-facing support.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear standards, UK legislation, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and review equipment specs, technical bids, and installation scopes.
  • Undertake power system studies, protection grading, earthing, and commissioning support.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant nuclear sector electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of design/installation practices on nuclear facilities.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered/Inc. Engineer (or working towards).
  • Knowledge of CE marking, ATEX, PED, LVD, Machinery Directive, EMC.
  • Eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
  • Desirable: multi-discipline project experience, client-facing leadership, 18th Edition Wiring Regs.
