Principal Cost Estimator Location: Barrow-In-Furness Contract: 12 Months Hours: 37 hours per week Rate: Β£60 per hour PAYE About the Role Morson are recruiting on behalf of a leading Aerospace and Defence client for an experienced Principal Cost Estimator to join their Commercial Estimating team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimating professional to support major bids, projects and commercial activities within a highly regulated Aerospace and Defence environment. Key Responsibilities Lead estimating support across bids, campaigns and projects, including final costing and pricing. Create and compile complex costings and pricing for bids. Develop accurate material and labour estimates using historic data and stakeholder input. Review and challenge functional and supply chain cost estimates. Develop and maintain cost models in line with business requirements. Support pricing of bids and project changes, including risk, uncertainty and opportunities. Produce and maintain a clear Basis of Estimate, including assumptions, dependencies and exclusions. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide estimating expertise at reviews and meetings. About You Extensive experience within a professional estimating or commercial environment. Strong understanding of estimating principles, policies and processes. Experience producing complex cost and pricing estimates. Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing priorities. Aerospace and Defence experience would be highly advantageous. Strong IT and presentation skills.
