Morson are working with the aerospace manufacturer who are looking for NC Programmers to join the team based at their site in Samlesbury.

We are seeking a skilled NC Programmer to develop, test, and optimise numerical control programmes that support the production of precision aerospace components. The successful candidate will programme and adjust CNC machine tools to ensure efficient, accurate manufacturing in line with engineering drawings and specifications. This role demands close collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams to consistently deliver high-quality components within set deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain NC programmes for milling, turning, grinding, and other CNC machinery using appropriate programming software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards to produce precise programmes.
  • Optimise machining operations to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and uphold stringent quality standards.
  • Conduct simulations and test runs to verify programme accuracy and functionality before production.
  • Modify existing programmes to resolve machining challenges or improve performance, based on feedback and inspection outcomes.
  • Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure programmes comply with production and safety requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of programmes, revisions, and processes in accordance with company and industry standards.
  • Monitor machine tool performance and provide technical support to operators as necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies within the workplace.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in NC programming within aerospace, aviation, or precision engineering sectors.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard programming software such as Siemens NX, CATIA, Mastercam, or equivalents.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, and grinding.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance standards relevant to aerospace manufacturing.
