We are looking for Class 1 Flux Core Welders to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. This is a great opportunity to work on exciting submarine engineering projects.
What you'll need:
- Strong capability in Flux Core welding on heavy plate, structural steel, or marine-grade materials
- Experience working in shipbuilding, ship repair, infrastructure, or large-scale construction environments
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
- Confident use of welding sets, fabrication tools, and general workshop equipment
- Marine engineering background or experience on Royal Navy or commercial vessels - Desirable
- Time-served trade apprenticeship in welding, fabrication, marine, or naval engineering - Desirable
- Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to welding - Desirable
- Level 3 Engineering or Modern Apprenticeship - Desirable
- Level 2 Engineering qualification supported by significant practical experience - Desirable

What you'll do:
- Apply Flux Core welding to a variety of heavy-duty marine and structural components
- Butt Welds 25mm/Fillet Welds 12mm
- Work on submarines, surface ships, dockside infrastructure, and controlled factory environments
- Operate welding and some fabrication equipment to consistently high standards
