Morson Edge are recruiting for an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to support A400M aircraft maintenance and certification activities at RAF Brize Norton. This role requires an engineer capable of meeting MAA RA4801 requirements and holding appropriate company approvals to perform and certify aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved Technical Documentation and Company Procedures.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong safety awareness, leadership capability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. There may also be opportunities to undertake limited supervisory responsibilities to support operational requirements and role development.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and certify A400M aircraft maintenance in accordance with approved Technical Documentation and Company Procedures
- Certify own work and, where authorised, the work of others within the scope of approvals held
- Work under the direction of the Senior Licensed Engineer (SLE) or Lead Engineer (LE), supporting team delivery and safe working practices
- Lead groups of engineers on assigned tasks to meet delivery and safety requirements
- Identify, address, and report safety concerns immediately
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, serviceable, and safe condition
- Raise, complete, and review maintenance documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Recommend improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency
- Mentor apprentices, trainees, and new starters, monitoring performance and reporting as required
- Maintain currency with Read & Sign notices and regulatory updates
- Support offsite activities when required (e.g. AOG or line support)
- Uphold professional standards of behaviour, discipline, and presentation in line with company values
- Comply with all Health & Safety, Aviation Safety, and Security responsibilities
- Apply Human Factors and safety management principles to all activities
- Support organisational Safety Management System and security policies
- Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace
- Hold an appropriate Category B licence in accordance with CAA Part 66, or equivalent experience
- Completion of MOD Phase 2 Technical Training (in line with MAA RA4808)
- A400M Type Course completed
- Valid EWIS and Human Factors training
- Ability to obtain and exercise company approvals to the full extent of licence held
- Successfully complete role-based Competency Assessment and Independent Quality Board
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team and lead technicians on task
- Strong communication skills and good aviation safety awareness
- Hold a UK driving licence and be capable of obtaining an airside driving permit
- Eligible to obtain and maintain UK security clearance
- High level of technical experience within military or regulated aviation environments
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience
- £60 per hour contract rate
