We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Site Engineer, on a freelance basis, site based at our ESD, Glenfarg site working on water infrastructure projects. You will report directly to the Site Manager and your role will be providing setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification in an entirely safe manner, whilst maintaining appropriate site records.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
- Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Setting out the works.
- Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
- Agreement of site measurements and records with the client's staff.
- Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filling system.
- Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
- Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
- Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
- Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification and good working practice.
- Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
- In conjunction with other site staff ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures and safe working practices.
- Ensure good, honest and open lines of communication are established.
- It is vitally important that Site Engineers lead by example in terms of safety behaviours.
About The Candidate:
- Essential: BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum).
- Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic level).
- Desirable: First Aid at Work qualification, SSSTS, CSCS Supervision card, EUSR SHEA Water.
