Due to further expansion, our client, a materials and aggregates provider is seeking a Mechanical Craftsperson for their site in Barnstone, Nottingham, able to offer 6-months work for the right candidate. This role is working alongside a team of multi-skilled Technicians and is a key role that involves undertaking planned and unplanned plant maintenance, to ensure maximum reliability of all fixed plant across the site. This will entail assisting the Technicians with inspections, defect resolution, fabrication and welding of parts and large-scale installation.
Candidates will join a small maintenance team and will be responsible for routine planned maintenance, fault finding, and ad hoc repairs to ensure continuous production.
The ideal candidate will be time served, or have an apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering craft, ideally coming with an NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance, or equivalent. Applicable candidates will have worked in similar environments, completing maintenance to production equipment and machinery.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
- Mechanical fabrication for planned maintenance and unscheduled mechanical repairs to heavy plant and machinery
- Ensuring maintenance schedules are adhered to and targets are met
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance to positively impact on Plant reliability
- Ensuring plant equipment and end product conforms to EN450AN standards and tolerances set
- Supporting the development and implementation of SHE policies and procedures with the aim of maintaining safety standards and eliminate safety and environmental incidents
- Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and proposing improvement actions
- Suggesting and implementing continuous improvements
- Complete and maintain IT reporting documents such as SAP PM requirements
Candidate will ideally:
- Be time served, or have an apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering craft
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance, or have equivalent relevant experience
- Hold IOSH or similar qualification (Desirable)
- Proven mechanical experience working in a Cement or other continuous heavy process industry
- Good knowledge of heavy manufacturing process or other related heavy industrial machinery
- Strong Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
- Working knowledge of slinging and rigging and multi-skilled engineering maintenance
- Working knowledge of Welding and gas cutting
- Working knowledge of equipment isolation procedures
