We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundworker / Construction Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of construction and civils tasks, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining strict health and safety compliance.
Location: Bowburn, North East
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be required to carry out various site duties as directed by the Site Manager, including:
- Preparing and setting up site compounds
- Installing haul roads
- Installing drainage systems and sewers
- Installing and maintaining over-pumping systems
- Concreting foundations
- Excavation works, including for structures and piling
- Laying ducts and kerbs
- Ensuring all work meets client expectations and quality standards
- Accurately completing and submitting timesheets on time
- Following company procedures, including absence reporting
You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, adapting to a variety of site tasks as required.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Work safely at all times and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Comply with all company policies and relevant legislation

- Confined Space certification
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
