Morson are currently recruiting for a Project Manager with particular expertise in Change or Configuration Management. Working for one of our distinguished Aerospace clients in Filton, you will deliver change to established manufacturing processes. You will drive changes impacting Wing fabrication from the change initialization until the implementation of the Change on the aircraft. We require an experienced manager who has delivered change in the Aerospace or similar highly regulated engineering industries. The role is being offered on a 12 month contract basis, with the possibility of extension. It will require 3 days a week onsite in Filton. We can pay a rate of £29.89 per hour PAYE or £40 per hour Umbrella inside IR35.
Responsibilities:
- Implement changes on production and/or in-service aircraft for various reasons (maturity improvement, safety improvement, weight saving, obsolescence, cost saving, development of new features).
- Lead and coordinate all required contributors (engineering, chief engineering, manufacturing engineering, procurement, supply chain, customer services, product offer, FAL, Finance/Finance Control, Configuration experts).
- Build up a full dossier including budget coverage, technical impacts, manufacturing impacts, supply chain impacts, costs, schedule, point of embodiment, risks & opportunities.
- Negotiate, arbitrate, ensure progress and solve conflicts.
- Be accountable for the correct implementation of the change on the aircraft, according to the Decision Board mandate.
- Highlight issues or/and risks, propose recovery plans if needed and escalate internally.
- Identify activities to offload through subcontracting.
- Act as Central Program representative to ensure the pro-active and consistent management of obsolescence and material shortages.
Requirements:
- Project Management experience in Aerospace or similar highly regulated engineering production.
- Project Management skills (PM certification would be a plus).
- Degree in engineering or 5 years of equivalent proven experience.
- Knowledge of the overall configuration management process (CM certification would be a plus).
- Airframe engineering knowledge.
- Ability to negotiate and take initiative.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent level in English.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site.
