Our client, a materials and aggregates provider is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to work on their Quarry in Shrewsbury, able to offer circa 3-months work for the right candidate.
This role includes working with Technicians on site, supporting them with planned and unplanned maintenance activities in a quarry environment, working between a fabrication workshop environment, through to installation activities on plant and machinery across the production facility.
The ideal candidate will be time served, or have an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering / maintenance, ideally coming with an ONC/HNC, NVQ or similar. Applicable candidates will have worked in similar environments, completing maintenance to production equipment and machinery.
Daily duties will include but are not limited to:
- Mechanical fitting within a heavy industrial setting, for planned and reactive maintenance of plant + workshop equipment, including but not limited to:
- Conveyors, Drive systems, Motors, Belts, Pumps, Gearboxes, Crushers, Vibratory Screens
- Pulleys, Bearings, Shafts, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Rollers, Side Skirts
Candidates will ideally:
- Be time served / Have an apprenticeship in a mechanical engineering / maintenance
- Hold a relevant qualification such as an ONC/HNC or NVQ (desirable but not essential)
- Proven mechanical fitter and maintenance experience in a continuous heavy process industry
- Experience working within a quarry setting (desirable but not essential) – MP Connect Card Preferred
- Experience of Welding, Experience of Workshop Fabrication, General fitting and installation on site
- Experience of Working at Height
- Good knowledge of heavy manufacturing process or other related heavy industrial machinery
- Strong Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
