We are looking for a C++ Software Engineer to work for our defence client based at their Bristol facility. You will help to develop solutions for the next generation of Air Defence Systems; developing evolving products whilst maintaining our clients enviable reputation for safety, performance and dependability.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a very hands-on role and requires the continued design and development of Command and Control architectures, and the instantiations for future products.
  • Perfect for a Software Engineer who is proactive and takes the initiative.

Skillset required:

  • A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
  • Proven ability of working in C++ on defence or safety critical systems.
  • Collaborative, open approach to application development and have the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum during development.
  • Background in working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated proving, supported with effective documentation.
  • Knowledge of new tools, techniques and approaches that might enable our client to evolve processes to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Ability with other languages such as Ada, QT desirable.
  • Knowledge of DDS and multi-threaded applications.
  • Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C or IEC61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C+.

Additional Information:

The successful candidate will need to be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level, the client will sponsor a new application if you are not currently cleared.
