Morson Edge are delighted to have teamed up with a Tech4Good start-up on their search for their first Software Engineering hire. The client is completely open on what the title of this role is but the responsibilities will be comparable to Principal/Tech Lead in most organisations.
The company is on a mission to improve the mental health and wellbeing of millions of people. They are well-funded and are looking to scale from R&D to Product, so this is an opportunity to build something entirely new and make a positive impact in the world.
You will report directly to the CTO and will be given the opportunity to hire a team. You will be responsible for helping to scale the company by playing a key role in shaping their architecture, standards, hiring, culture, and product direction from day one.
You should also expect to work across the full stack and every stage of the product lifecycle, from system design through to build, test, deployment and supporting systems in production, so you should be skilled in practices like TDD, CI/CD, IaC and Observability.
Skills:
- TypeScript / Node.js
- Backend APIs
- AWS or GCP
- Streaming systems experience (Flink, Kafka, Kinesis, Spark etc.)
In return, you will be given real ownership in an early-stage start-up environment where you can shape direction and genuinely make an impact. Benefits include a salary up to 120k (DoE), 30 days annual leave + bank holidays and remote first working (1 day per month in London). If the Product takes off, equity will be distributed between the founding team too.
