An exciting opportunity has arisen within Airbus Engineering for a Surface Technology Specialist within Materials, Processes and Test.
As a member of our team you will work on the development, qualification and technical support of the Surface Technologies used for Corrosion Protection, Tribology and other applications of Aircraft airframe. You will join a team of highly motivated and appreciated people to develop and deploy new benchmarks of robust and sustainable Surface Technologies such as high performance paints and coatings, surface treatments/coatings and sealants. You will work on all aircraft programs supporting them with corrosion analysis and latest protection principles development. Your tasks and responsibilities:
- Developing and deploying Materials, Processes and Test Technologies for mature design and build
- Providing corrosion protection, sealing concepts and solutions to enable design, build and operation of aircraft
- Ensuring reactive support for improvement projects (performance improvement / cost and time reduction)
- Ensuring EHS (Environment Health and Safety) regulations (REACh) thanks to eco-efficient materials and processes
- Adapting existing corrosion protection and sealing principles to a chromate free environment
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Graduated in Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical or Material Engineering or a similar field of expertise
- Relevant background in corrosion protection and surface technology applied in aerospace industry
- Relevant background in aerospace materials, mechanical engineering and aerospace manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of aerospace materials (metallic and composite), surface treatments, coatings, and sealants
- High degree of initiative, credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in multi-location international team
