A leading advanced composites manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team, supporting the delivery of complex composite structures for customers across the aerospace, defence, marine, and industrial sectors. Working closely with engineering, production, and project teams, you will play a key role in translating customer requirements into efficient and repeatable manufacturing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with around 3–5 years' experience who enjoys process development, continuous improvement, and working at the forefront of advanced manufacturing technologies.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes for composite products and assemblies
  • Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and production documentation within MRP/ERP systems
  • Producing detailed work instructions and manufacturing process documentation to support efficient production
  • Supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews and providing manufacturing feedback to engineering and customers where required
  • Working closely with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and identify process improvements
  • Supporting the introduction of new products from concept through to production release
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost optimisation
  • Assisting with tooling and fixture design to support manufacturing requirements
  • Monitoring manufacturing performance and supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with quality, safety, and customer requirements

What you'll bring

  • 3–5 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or Process Engineer role
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment, ideally producing complex engineered products
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and engineering documentation
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs, manufacturing routings, and work instructions
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Rhino, Inventor, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Desirable experience

  • Experience within composites manufacturing, including GRP, FRP, carbon fibre, infusion, or prepreg processes
  • Background in aerospace, defence, marine, automotive, or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other regulated quality management systems
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Additional requirements

  • Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
  • Must be capable of obtaining UK Security Clearance (SC)
  • Sole UK British passport holder preferred due to customer and security requirements
