We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join a food manufacturing site in Worksop. This is a unique opportunity for someone looking for reduced hours while still being involved in a hands on engineering role.

Please note: This role includes a significant on call commitment, so we are looking for candidates who are comfortable with this level of responsibility.

Working Pattern

  • This role is structured around a 3 week cycle:
  • Core Hours (Part Time):
    • Week 1: 6am to 2pm (Mon- Wed)
    • Week 2: 6am to 2pm (Thurs- Fri)
    • Week 3: 10am to 6pm (Mon- Wed) on call week

You will typically work: 2 days per week (16 hours) OR potentially 50% hours (5 days over 2 weeks) depending on the candidate.

On Call Requirement (Key Part of Role)

  • 1 full week on call every 3 weeks (including weekends)
  • Includes bank holidays if they fall within your on call week
  • On call is paid separately and can significantly increase overall earnings
  • Typical On Call Payments: Approx. £298 per on call week (paid only during your on call week)
  • This equates to roughly £100 per week on average across the full cycle
  • Additional payments for phone support and site attendance
  • Minimum payments apply for all call outs
  • On call payments are paid in addition to your base salary

About The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
  • Fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Supporting continuous production and site operations
  • Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and GMP standards
  • Completing maintenance records and working within permit systems

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

  • Maintenance experience within food, FMCG, or similar environment
  • Strong mechanical and or electrical fault finding skills
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Flexible approach to working hours and on call commitment

Desirable:

  • Engineering qualification (NVQ, City and Guilds, Apprenticeship)
  • Electrical qualifications or PLC experience
