A leading product transformation consultancy is seeking an experienced Interaction / UX Designer to support a high-impact programme within a major UK public sector organisation. This role sits within a large-scale transformation initiative, likely aligned to the circular economy portfolio, focused on improving digital services and user outcomes.

The Role
You will play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital services. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help shape end-to-end user journeys, ensuring services meet both user needs and government standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality interaction and UX design solutions across digital services
- Translate user research insights into clear, effective user journeys and interaction patterns
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artefacts to communicate ideas and solutions
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, researchers, and stakeholders
- Ensure designs align with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards and best practices
- Contribute to service assessments and continuous improvement of live services
- Support the development of scalable and reusable design patterns
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Interaction Designer or UX Designer within digital delivery environments
- Strong experience working to GDS standards on government or public sector projects
- Ability to design end-to-end user journeys across complex services
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong prototyping skills (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar)
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
- Experience contributing to service transformation or service redesign programmes
Contract Details
- Day Rate: £400 per day (Outside IR35)
- Duration: 6 months initial contract
- Location: Manchester (onsite once every two weeks - rest remote)
- Start Date: ASAP
