We are seeking a competent and motivated Site Engineer with solid experience in heavy civils, earthworks, drainage, and groundworks to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate setting out, surveying, and quality control across a variety of civil engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with site teams, subcontractors, and project management to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing site engineering activities such as establishing levels and survey control.
- Setting out detailed works in line with contract drawings.
- Monitoring progress and resolving technical issues on site.
- Assisting in producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contributing to financial forecasting.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
This role requires strong leadership skills to support and develop junior engineers and coordinate subcontractors effectively. The ideal candidate will have a practical understanding of construction methods and temporary works, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a dynamic site environment.
Skills:
- Proven experience in heavy civils, earthworks, drainage, and groundworks.
- Proficient in setting out and surveying techniques.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and site engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.

- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor (advantageous).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Health and Safety training (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) desirable.
