About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior/Lead Systems Engineer to design, deliver, and optimise critical infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. You'll drive infrastructure modernisation, automation, resilience, and best practices across systems, cloud, and identity platforms. Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in enterprise systems engineering and infrastructure management.
  • Strong expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, domain services, virtualisation and enterprise storage platforms.
  • Proven experience supporting and optimising Microsoft 365 environments and associated identity services.
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure within Azure, AWS and/or GCP.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Bicep or equivalent tooling.
  • Advanced PowerShell Scripting skills and experience automating infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Experience using Python for systems automation, tooling or infrastructure management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex enterprise environments.
  • Solid networking knowledge with an understanding equivalent to CCNA level or above.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise systems engineering across Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation, storage and core infrastructure platforms.
  • Design, implement and optimise Active Directory and domain services to support a scalable and secure enterprise environment.
  • Support and enhance Microsoft 365 services, identity platforms and endpoint management solutions.
  • Design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep and modern automation practices.
  • Drive Scripting and automation initiatives using PowerShell and Python to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Own backup, disaster recovery, patch management and infrastructure resilience programmes.
  • Work across cloud, identity, endpoint and infrastructure technologies with a true full-stack systems engineering mindset.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining high levels of service availability.
  • Operate effectively within a fast-changing, low-maturity environment, helping to establish standards, processes and technical direction.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience within gaming, VFX, animation, media production or similarly demanding technical environments.
  • Familiarity with Perforce infrastructure and large-scale build pipeline environments.
  • Experience designing highly available, resilient and business-critical infrastructure platforms.
  • Exposure to AI-powered tooling and automation solutions for infrastructure management and operational efficiency.
  • Experience supporting organisations through infrastructure transformation and modernisation initiatives.
