Key responsibilities:
- This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of procurement activities across the full project lifecycle, supporting the successful delivery of infrastructure works through effective sourcing strategies, supply chain engagement, and commercial management.
- You will work collaboratively with project delivery and commercial teams to secure high-quality goods, materials, and specialist subcontract services, ensuring procurement activities deliver value, efficiency, and programme certainty.
- Acting as a key link between operational teams and the wider supply chain function, you will contribute to supplier performance management, commercial negotiations, contract administration, and the implementation of procurement strategies that align with project objectives and business requirements.
- Leading the end-to-end procurement of infrastructure work packages across projects of varying size and complexity, driving value generation, mitigating risk, and ensuring alignment with project procurement plans and contractual obligations.
- You will manage procurement programmes from market engagement and tender issue through evaluation, negotiation, and contract award, undertaking technical, commercial, delivery, and contractual assessments while ensuring compliance with NEC and other industry-standard forms of contract.
- The role also requires building and maintaining strong working relationships across internal teams, clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, facilitating procurement discussions and stakeholder engagement to support successful project outcomes and operational excellence.
Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Strong experience within a construction, utilities or civil engineering environment.
- Experience managing and negotiating NEC forms of contract.
- Prior experience of running the procurement packages on numerous major projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
