About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join a growing UK design team working on major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will lead the technical and project delivery of larger and more complex non-infrastructure schemes, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time, within budget and to client requirements.
You will provide technical leadership, mentor and support junior engineers, and contribute to projects across the full lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and commissioning.
The role is based in Warrington , with flexible hybrid working combining office and remote working.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver innovative, effective and value-for-money engineering solutions that meet technical and project requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, line management and oversight of Engineers, Senior Engineers, Technicians and Graduate Engineers.
- Maintain high technical standards and ensure work is delivered in accordance with project briefs and client expectations.
- Lead projects through preliminary and detailed design stages, with a strong focus on quality, innovation and client requirements.
- Prepare, review and approve engineering designs, technical documentation, cost estimates and calculations, while overseeing drawing production.
- Ensure compliance with relevant management systems, CDM Regulations, health and safety requirements and environmental legislation.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Support contract preparation, project planning and programme development.
- Contribute to bids and provide technical and delivery support across other projects when required.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical experience in the design of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects .
- Applications welcomed from relevant disciplines, including Civil, MEICA and Process Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise technical reports.
- Proven ability to lead and work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong organisational skills and a track record of delivering projects to agreed deadlines.
- Client-focused approach with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive and committed to continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and a commitment to embedding best practice throughout design and project delivery.
