Overhaul Production Manager
Location: Manchester Salary: Β£60,000 β Β£70,000 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Friday, days Weekends: No weekend working
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Overhaul Production Manager to join a growing engineering operation in Manchester and play a key role in the development and successful delivery of a brand-new overhaul facility.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager with a background in heavy engineering, rail, manufacturing or workshop environments to take ownership of production operations and help shape a facility from the ground up.
You will be responsible for leading production activities across a range of complex component overhaul operations, whilst driving high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, delivery and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership position offering genuine autonomy, significant responsibility and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the development of the operation.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of UK Overhaul, you will lead the day-to-day production operation and be responsible for the performance, organisation and development of the facility.
You will oversee component overhaul activities including:
β’ Bogies
β’ Wheelsets
β’ Traction motors
β’ Gearboxes
β’ Couplers
β’ PWPs
β’ HVAC systems
Key responsibilities will include:
β’ Leading and managing the production team to achieve safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.
β’ Planning and managing day-to-day production activities and resources.
β’ Driving a strong culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
β’ Ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping, organisation and 5S across the facility.
β’ Managing production performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
β’ Working closely with Engineering, Materials and other key stakeholders to ensure production requirements are met.
β’ Supporting the setup and mobilisation of the new overhaul facility.
β’ Supporting the design and optimisation of the facility layout.
β’ Assisting with the specification and implementation of equipment, tooling and production systems.
