Please note that in order to be considered for this opportunity you will need to be eligible for BPSS level UK Security Clearance. Both the role and client site have ITAR nationality restrictions.

Role Overview: Morson are recruiting on behalf of a leading defence equipment manufacturer based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. This is a contract role although highly likely to be long-term. Our client is looking for a reliable and proactive General Maintenance Operator to work NIGHTS supporting the Calibration and Maintenance department in ensuring the facility and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational.

Rates: £28.35 per hour Umbrella or £21.12 per hour (holiday pay on top of hourly rate) rates rise after 12 weeks to £29.70 per hour Umbrella or £22.12 per hour PAYE. Nights are Monday-Thursday, 10 hours/night (7.30pm – 6am).

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out routine facility compliance activities including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) testing throughout the facility.
  • Electrical Safety Testing of equipment and portable appliances.
  • LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) filter changes and associated maintenance tasks.
  • Support the Calibration & Maintenance department with general maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Assist with planned preventative maintenance activities and respond to general maintenance requirements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation and paperwork are completed correctly and on time.

Skills and Experience:

  • MUST have Manufacturing experience.
  • Previous maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to follow procedures and complete documentation accurately.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and develop technically.

Development & Progression: This role offers opportunities for progression within the Calibration & Maintenance department. Training and development will be provided to support the successful candidate in developing skills and experience in mechanical calibration, electrical calibration, and use of test equipment.
