About the Role
The role involves producing civil design technical information—drawings, specifications, and risk assessments—for electrical infrastructure projects across various voltages. You will support Design Engineers and work independently on non-complex projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project timelines, and budgets. You will also assist during construction by resolving technical queries and updating design databases.

Dimensions of the Role
- Reports to: Civil Design Team Leader (via Design Engineers)
- Supports project design valued at £1–£10 million
- Contributes to technical administration of the Civil Design section
Principal Accountabilities
- Prepare civil design drawings, specifications, and risk assessments
- Produce planning, structural steel, and reinforced concrete drawings
- Ensure designs meet all technical standards and regulations
- Maintain the Meridian drawing database
- Support construction teams and answer technical queries
- Specify and manage specialist survey/design services
- Provide regular updates to the Civil Design Team
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of civil design for 132kV, 33kV, 11/6.6kV systems
- Familiarity with CDM and Health & Safety regulations
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
- Understanding of substation access and electrical infrastructure
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Full UK Driver's Licence
