We are looking for a Maintenance Systems Lead to be responsible for the effective deployment, governance, and optimisation of maintenance management systems used across the operating assets. This is a 2 year long term contract opportunity on a full time basis with 4 days based on site at Barrow. The role is inside IR35 with rates to be discussed. No clearance is required but background checks may be carried out.
ROLE OVERVIEW: The role ensures that maintenance systems, processes, and data support safe, compliant, and efficient asset management, enabling effective planning, execution, and assurance of maintenance activities. The position acts as the bridge between maintenance, engineering, operations, and the IS functions, ensuring systems are fit for purpose and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements. The position is also appointed as the ICP/MoC lead for the business.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the system owner for the CMMS System, ensuring the system supports maintenance planning, execution, backlog management, defect control and reporting.
- Own system configuration, governance, and change control processes.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
- Ensure accurate and consistent asset hierarchy, tagging, and equipment master data.
- Maintain data standards for work orders, task lists, failure codes, and maintenance history.
- Drive improvements in data quality to support performance analysis, regulatory reporting, and decision making.
- Support alignment with Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and integrity registers.
- Develop and maintain maintenance KPIs and dashboards, including backlog, compliance, PM effectiveness, and deferrals providing insights into maintenance performance, trends, and risks.
- Support maintenance, reliability, and asset integrity teams with actionable system based analysis.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews related to maintenance systems and records.
- Ensure maintenance system usage supports Safety Case, SEMS, COMAH requirements where applicable.
- Identify system related risks that could impact asset integrity, safety, or compliance and develop mitigation actions.
- Lead or support initiatives to improve work management processes preventive maintenance effectiveness backlog and deferral management.
- Support system upgrades, migrations, and digitalisation initiatives.
- Provide guidance and training to users to improve system adoption and data quality.
- Support development of system procedures, work instructions, and user guides.
- Act as a Lead investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.
- Any other associated duties as reasonably required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Degree qualified in an engineering or technology discipline.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Experience in event management and investigation training such as Kelvin TopSet.
- Proven experience in maintenance systems within hazardous industries.
- Hands on experience with CMMS/EAM systems.
- Solid understanding of maintenance work management processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 Asset Management principles.
- Proven experience working with ICP and MoC.
