We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee major HV, GIS, and substation installation projects in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with proven delivery experience in large-scale power infrastructure projects and strong knowledge of NEC and MF/1 contracts.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will report directly to the Project Director and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of complex substation projects, ensuring delivery is safe, commercially controlled, and completed on time. You will act as the primary representative on site, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing programme delivery, and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day project delivery of HV/substation installation works
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and commercial performance
  • Oversee NEC and MF/1 contract administration, change control, and risk management
  • Ensure safe delivery in line with QHSE standards and industry regulations
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and practical solutions to project challenges
  • Monitor project milestones and ensure deadlines are achieved
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, contractual, and operational requirements
  • Maintain high standards of quality, environmental performance, and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within HV, substation, GIS, or power infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience delivering substation installation projects
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and MF/1 contracts
  • Experience managing large-scale engineering or infrastructure programmes
  • Strong commercial, financial, and contractual awareness
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant industry qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent)
  • Willingness to work site-based in Kent 2–3 days per week

Preferred Experience

  • National Grid or utility infrastructure project exposure
  • GIS / HVDC project experience
  • Major transmission or distribution project delivery
  • Background in design-and-build environments
