Morson are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering organisation supporting the UK nuclear industry for an EC&I Project Engineer to join their established team at Heysham Nuclear Power Station. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering engineering projects that support one of the UK's critical nuclear generation sites. Working within a highly regulated environment, you'll be responsible for delivering Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

As an EC&I Project Engineer, you'll support the successful delivery of engineering and construction projects across the station, working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and station engineering teams:
- Producing and maintaining engineering documentation, technical specifications and quality plans
- Managing technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting contractor selection and contract award activities
- Reviewing contractor designs, drawings and technical documentation
- Carrying out feasibility studies, technical assessments and site surveys
- Preparing Engineering Changes and managing associated documentation
- Supporting commissioning activities and acting as Test Team Leader where appropriate
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within quality expectations
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction and operations
We're looking for engineers with experience delivering projects within highly regulated industries:
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or related engineering discipline
- Experience delivering engineering or construction projects
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, technical specifications and change control
- Experience working within safety, environmental and quality management systems
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction project delivery
- SMSTS qualification (desirable)
- Formal project management qualification (advantageous)
- Previous experience within nuclear, power generation or other highly regulated industries would be beneficial, although candidates from sectors such as oil & gas, defence, pharmaceuticals, utilities or petrochemical are also encouraged to apply.
