About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stock Controller with valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) licence to join a leading railway infrastructure company. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate stock control and inventory management to support seamless warehouse operations. You will be responsible for the accurate picking, packing, and movement of stock, ensuring all inventory records are precise and up to date. The role requires hands-on operation of forklifts such as Counterbalance, VNA, or Reach trucks, which is a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick, pack, ship, receive, put-away, and kit components in line with warehouse management policies.
  • Maintain and update inventory records to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and assist with stock control processes to support inventory management.
  • Follow quality procedures to ensure all stock is handled and packed to the highest standards, protecting items during transit and storage.
  • Verify all picked stock and assembled loads prior to dispatch using designated systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Operate forklifts (Counterbalance, VNA, or Reach) safely and efficiently to support warehouse activities.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to meet operational targets and maintain smooth warehouse workflows.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven warehouse and stock control experience is essential.
  • Valid FLT licence for Counterbalance, VNA, or Reach truck – mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate stock management.
  • Good hand, eye, and foot coordination for safe operation of mechanical handling equipment.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player with a flexible approach to work.
