Summary
My client is seeking a skilled Shift Electrical Engineer to join their team in London, working a 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off rota.
The role involves carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with guidelines using the Concept system, alongside reactive maintenance, minor works, projects, and emergency response related to the building's electrical and mechanical services.
You will be responsible for minor electrical and mechanical installations, and assisting with contractor management and coordination. The role requires deputising for the Senior Shift Technician when necessary and ensuring materials are reported for reordering.
You will identify and report risks, accidents, and near misses promptly, respond swiftly to building alarms, and maintain detailed shift logs. Additional duties include completing water treatment tasks, supporting continuous service improvement, and ensuring all PPMs are returned on time with follow-up on recommendations. The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work calmly under pressure, and strong IT and report writing capabilities.
Skills
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Building Services environment
Electrical Discipline C&G Level 3 Qualified Electrician
LV Authorised Person
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
C&G Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent qualifications
Knowledge of 18th Edition IEE Wiring and Installation (or ability to attain)
Proactive approach to maintenance and operations
Excellent communication skills across all staff levels
Strong IT skills including report writing
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Building Management Systems (BMS)
Certifications & Standards
City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Qualification
LV Authorised Person certification
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (or commitment to achieve)

Health and Safety compliance knowledge relevant to building services maintenance
This is a temp to perm role paying £25 per hour PAYE + holiday pay or £33 per hour Umbrella.
