Overview
As a Senior ILS Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring Ultra's products are designed and delivered with supportability in mind. Working closely with the Head of Support and wider engineering teams, you will influence product design, develop support solutions, and help ensure our systems remain reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Tailor Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities to meet User, Customer and Ultra requirements, in coordination with the ILS Project Lead.
- Work collaboratively with design teams to enhance reliability, maintainability, usability and overall supportability.
- Contribute to the development of optimal support solutions within broader product and capability strategies.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analyses, level of repair analyses, sparing assessments, and FMECA activities.
- Elicit, interpret, and refine support requirements; propose suitable verification methods.
- Develop supportability evidence and conduct analyses to assure support solutions across the lifecycle.
- Perform reliability modelling and maintainability analyses to optimise support arrangements.
- Assess human factors and the potential for human error within system behaviour.
- Prepare or contribute to technical documentation, including troubleshooting and O&M manuals.
- Support system hazard analysis and assist in identifying/mitigating safety hazards.
- Develop and implement obsolescence management strategies.
- Contribute to process and policy improvements across the Support function.
Experience & Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical equivalent (or military engineering background).
- Knowledge and experience of R&M disciplines: Reliability Prediction, RBDs, FTAs, FMECAs, MTAs, FRACAS/DRACAS, etc.
- Understanding of ILS domains: LCC, LORA, sparing, obsolescence, etc.
- Exposure to Operational Analysis and Whole Life Cost Modelling.
- Ability to critically review specialist domain outputs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PTC Windchill, Relyence, or similar modelling tools is an advantage.
