Morson Talent are currently recruiting for a Senior BMS/HVAC Estimator to work on behalf of one of our prestigious clients based in Bracknell. This is a contract role for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Snr. BMS/HVAC Estimator who will be responsible for generating budgetary and firm cost estimates for Projects and/or Service Projects. The candidate will work as a team player in assigned geography, generating solutions and cost estimates. They will act as a resource in support of the sale to address the customer's technical and application requirements to ultimately provide an accurate cost of the solution. This position will partner with Sales and Design Engineers, vendors, customers, consulting engineers, contractors and delivery and support personnel to deliver estimates in a timely manner that are scoped and cost engineered correctly. All estimates will be expected to be within accordance with our client's business objectives and strategies and ultimately deliver customer satisfaction.
In a senior role, it is anticipated that they will provide support to the sales team during internal approval processes and preparations to ensure proposals are submitted promptly on time.
Responsibilities:- Assist sales in securing business by developing accurate, timely and professional estimates, on BMS/HVAC systems, in terms of scope, material and labour effort on an assigned opportunity.
- Compare the sales information to delivered information and provide guidance on factors to be used for competitive estimating of future jobs.
- Support our client's efforts to obtain or retain competitive position.
- 100% compliance with all required Health and Safety policies.
- Early engagement with sales team to understand enquiry / RFQ properly to design and design suitable solution.
- Work closely with Operation Teams to agree on costs assessments and anticipate risks and individuates synergies.
- Maintain product knowledge and technical skills to current standards and portfolio.
- Work on alternate solutions for the enquiry (if required).
- Conduct internal technical reviews & assists on Proposal reviews and management approvals review.
- Develop detailed professional Proposals, Bill of Materials with detailed inclusions, exclusions and assumptions.
- Work closely with Suppliers chain to obtain vendor quotes for all supplies and sub-contracted work. Assist in finding potential strategic partners to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
- Ensure 100% compliance to set processes & achieve zero non-compliance in all internal & external audits.
- Supports sales professionals, bid managers and customers during the technical requirement definition and solution development sales process steps.
- Utilizes feedback mechanisms to continually update standards to maintain competitive position and reduction of deviation.
- Supports in final negotiations and customer meetings.
- Professional estimating experience, with emphasis on criticality of detail.
- BMS/HVAC business experience.
- Exhaustive knowledge of Major BMS/HVAC Building Automations Systems.
- Exhibited advanced skills in Excel and Word for generating professional documents suitable for formal submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical solutions into detailed cost elements.
- Experience working on projects that have global impact and dealing with multi-cultural aspects.
- Knowledge of BMS/HVAC Systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) is preferred.
- Knowledge of Energy Solutions and Cloud services is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish and foster relationships between various internal and external customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal customers.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively and independently with cross-functional teams and members of the leadership group as required.
