We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Senior General Foreperson / General Foreman
to join the
A46 Walsgrave Junction Upgrade in Coventry , working directly with
Octavius Infrastructure , a leading Tier 1 contractor. This is a major highways infrastructure scheme with a
long-term programme , offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced highways professional to join a significant project and work as part of an established site management team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the
day-to-day delivery of highways and earthworks activities , leading site teams and subcontractors, coordinating resources and helping ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. You will work closely with the Site Management team and will be expected to
take ownership of site activities and deputise for the management team when required . Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities, labour, plant and subcontractors. Lead the delivery of highways, earthworks and associated civil engineering works. Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme. Coordinate site resources and ensure teams have the correct information, plant and materials to complete the works. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and method statements. Ensure works are carried out in accordance with RAMS, permits and project requirements. Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Site Management team. Assist with daily and weekly planning and programme monitoring. Liaise with Site Agents, Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders. Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance. Identify potential issues, risks and delays and work proactively to resolve them. Ensure works are completed right first time and assist with defect clearance and close-out. Lead by example and promote a positive safety and quality culture across the site. Support, coach and develop site teams where appropriate. Maintain accurate site records and ensure relevant project documentation is completed. About You
We are looking for an experienced General Foreman, General Foreperson or Senior Foreperson with a strong background in highways, earthworks and civil engineering. You should be confident leading site teams and subcontractors and be comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of works on a busy infrastructure project. Ideally, you will have: Previous experience as a General Foreman / General Foreperson / Senior Foreperson on highways or major infrastructure projects. Strong experience delivering highways and earthworks activities. Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, labour and resources. Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and method statements. Experience working to programmes and coordinating day-to-day site delivery. A strong understanding of RAMS, health & safety and quality requirements. The ability to communicate effectively with Site Agents, Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team. Experience working on Tier 1 highways or infrastructure projects would be advantageous. NEC experience/knowledge would also be beneficial. Qualifications
