Length: 6 Months IR35 Status: Inside IR35Location : Hybrid / Predominantly Remote Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join a large-scale public sector digital programme.
This role offers the opportunity to work on modern cloud-based platforms, driving automation, improving software delivery practices, and supporting the operation of critical production services.
You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, improving developer workflows, and ensuring highly available, secure cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities Design, build and operate CI/CD pipelines and delivery automation solutions.
Manage and support production services hosted in cloud environments, primarily AWS.
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) and configuration-as-code solutions.
Develop automation scripts and tooling to improve operational efficiency and developer experience.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to enhance platform reliability, scalability and security.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using a structured, evidence-led approach.
Drive continuous improvement across deployment, monitoring and operational processes.
Essential Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience designing, building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working with Git-based development and delivery practices.
Proven experience operating production environments on a major cloud platform: Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated environment management.
AWS (preferred)Azure GCPStrong scripting or programming skills, including: Experience automating operational tasks and improving developer workflows.
Python (preferred)Go Java Script Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to assess options, analyse evidence and make sound technical decisions.
