Morson Edge are working with a leading global multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Senior Architectural Technician to support the delivery of major Defence and Critical National Infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering technically complex projects within highly regulated environments.

Working predominantly across RIBA Stages 2 and 3, you'll play a key role in producing and coordinating high-quality architectural models, drawings and technical information for nationally significant programmes. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to the delivery of complex facilities while working alongside architects, engineers and other technical specialists using industry-leading BIM workflows.

We're looking to speak with experienced Senior Architectural Technicians who have outstanding Revit capability and a strong background delivering coordinated architectural models within complex project environments. You'll take ownership of architectural model production, multidisciplinary coordination and technical delivery, working with minimal supervision while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards. Candidates with experience in Defence, Nuclear, Data Centres, Industrial, HV/Substations or other highly regulated sectors will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality architectural models, drawings and technical documentation using Revit.
  • Deliver coordinated architectural models throughout RIBA Stages 2 and 3.
  • Produce General Arrangement drawings, Fire Compartmentation drawings, Material & People Flow analysis and construction information.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models across architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Carry out model coordination and clash detection activities.
  • Work within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM workflows.
  • Produce construction-ready drawings, schedules and technical documentation.
  • Ensure models comply with project BIM standards and company procedures.
  • Apply technical judgement to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Build effective working relationships with architects, engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years' experience as an Architectural Technician or equivalent technical experience.
  • ONC/BTEC qualification as a minimum (HNC preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Proven experience producing coordinated architectural models and drawing packages.
  • Strong experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 2 and 3.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary model coordination.
  • Clash detection experience using Navisworks or similar software.
  • Experience working within BIM environments, including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360.
  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical deliverables.

Desirable Experience

  • CIAT membership.
  • Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.
  • Experience within Defence, Nuclear, Data Centres, Industrial or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Experience delivering Critical National Infrastructure projects.
  • Current SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.

Security Requirements

  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance as a minimum.
  • SC Clearance highly desirable.
  • Must be eligible to work on restricted-access projects.
  • Ideally a UK National (dual nationals considered subject to security requirements).
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a DBS check.
