We have an opportunity for a Process Operator to join our Client's Cocoa and Chocolate's Cocoa York manufacturing facility. You will learn how to operate the manufacturing process safely and efficiently whilst ensuring the product is food safe.

Job type: Contract (Till End Sept)

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 2 days 2 nights

Salary: £15/hr

Start: ASAP - Till end of September

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Site health & safety and safe operations
  • Risk assessments
  • Food safety and HACCP
  • Clean as you go: maintaining and improving plant housekeeping, adhering to visual standards
  • Process set up, control and efficiency driving
  • Fault identification and raising work orders
  • Root cause analysis
  • Environmental controls (ISO14001)
  • Quality control and data input
  • Trend analysis
  • Operational maintenance and scheduled maintenance
  • Customer service & understanding customer specifications

Minimum Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Powered pallet truck qualifications
  • High safety awareness for self and other employees and knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
  • Experience working in a large process manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, preferably knowledge of HACCP
  • Knowledge of environmental controls
  • Good level of IT skills- including Excel, Word and manufacturing systems
  • Team player
  • Good communicator
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Self-motivated, able to work within a self-managed team
  • Willingness to undertake manual tasks which sometimes involve working in a dirty and hot environment
  • Ability to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner
