Guaranteed until 1st January, with potential extension subject to business approval Morson are recruiting on behalf of Safran Actuations for an Industrial Engineer - Tool Control to support a key tooling improvement programme within the Aftermarket Value Stream. This role is ideally suited to a Manufacturing, Industrialisation or Tooling Engineer who enjoys working on standalone projects and driving improvements from concept through to implementation. Working across both Assembly & Test and Machine Shop environments, you will take ownership of assessing existing tooling provision, identifying gaps against operational requirements and implementing solutions to ensure tooling availability, traceability and compliance across the business. This position offers a varied mix of engineering, project management and continuous improvement activities, with responsibility for everything from tooling assessment and procurement through to 3D modelling, 3D printing, inventory management, auditing and reporting. Key Responsibilities

Assess current tooling inventory and tooling requirements across the Aftermarket Value Stream Conduct gap analysis to identify tooling shortfalls and improvement opportunities Design and model tooling solutions using 3D CAD software, preferably NX Create tooling inserts and components using 3D printing technology Procure tooling where commercial solutions are required Manage tooling inventory, storage and control processes Catalogue tooling within carousel systems and maintain accurate records Laser etch tooling to ensure serialisation and traceability Update and maintain the central Tool Management System Conduct audits to ensure compliance with tooling control procedures Produce reports and track progress against project burn-down plans Drive continuous improvement initiatives across tooling and manufacturing processes Essential Skills & Experience

Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally NX Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Strong organisational and project management skills Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision Good communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience using 3D printers and additive manufacturing techniques Industrialisation, manufacturing or tooling engineering experience Knowledge of tool control systems and inventory management Understanding of technical documentation such as Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and Process Plans Experience working within aerospace or highly regulated engineering environments Candidate Profile

We are particularly interested in candidates from Manufacturing Engineering, Industrialisation Engineering, Tooling Engineering or similar engineering backgrounds who have experience of tooling assessment, process improvement and hands-on engineering activities. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable taking ownership of a project and delivering results within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Please note that this role is fully onsite and does not offer hybrid working.
