Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 DOE

Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday to Thursday, Hybrid

Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design, manufacture and delivery of bespoke engineering solutions for some of the UK's most highly regulated industries. With over 35 years of experience, they support customers across the nuclear, defence, science and advanced manufacturing sectors, delivering complex projects from concept through to completion.

We are currently hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer / Project Delivery Engineer to join their growing team in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business offering a permanent role, a 4-day working week and an excellent benefits package.

The Role

This position is predominantly focused on Manufacturing Engineering (approximately 80-90% of the role), with some involvement in low-level Project Engineering and project coordination. You will be responsible for supporting manufacturing activities, driving continuous improvements and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and improving manufacturing processes
  • Delivering manufacturing engineering projects from planning through to completion
  • Managing programmes of work and monitoring project progress
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Progress chasing and coordinating manufacturing activities
  • Leading and supporting team members where required
  • Utilising MRP/ERP systems to manage production and manufacturing information
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment
  • HNC/HND (minimum) in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline
  • Experience managing or leading people
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems (Business Central experience would be advantageous)
  • Experience delivering engineering projects and managing programmes of work
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
