At Morson Edge, we are proud to be partnering with Sizewell C (SZC) to recruit an experienced Interface Engineer to join one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role on a nationally important nuclear new build programme that will help deliver secure, low-carbon energy for generations to come. If you are looking for a technically challenging position where your work will have a genuine impact, this could be the opportunity for you.

About Sizewell C

Following the success of Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C is the UK's next major nuclear power station under construction in Suffolk. Backed by Government support and progressing through its construction phase, the project will provide reliable, low-carbon electricity to around six million homes for at least 60 years, making a significant contribution towards the UK's Net Zero ambitions.

The Opportunity

Interface Management is a critical function in ensuring the successful integration of complex workstreams across the Sizewell C project. Reporting to the Interface Oversight Project Manager, you will become part of the Interface Management Team (IMT), working across the project's three core programmes:

  • Civil Works
  • Nuclear Island
  • Conventional Island & Balance of Plant

You will be responsible for coordinating interfaces between these programmes, ensuring risks are identified early, communication remains effective, and project delivery stays aligned to safety, schedule, cost and quality objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience on major infrastructure or engineering programmes who enjoys working collaboratively across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

As Interface Engineer, you will:

  • Implement and maintain the project's Interface Management Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and coordinate Interface Milestone Definition Documents (MDDs) and the Delivery Interface Register (DIR).
  • Define, document and manage technical and delivery interfaces across programmes and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor interface progress and ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Identify interface-related risks, issues and change requirements, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Produce clear reporting and assurance documentation for programme leadership and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Risk Management Team to ensure interface risks are effectively captured and managed.
  • Facilitate collaboration between delivery teams, ensuring interface issues are understood, owned and resolved.
  • Support Delivery Project Managers in developing interface agreements that achieve the best outcome for the project while maintaining compliance with nuclear safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote collaborative working across all delivery teams to support successful project integration.

About You

We are looking for someone who can confidently operate within a complex, fast-paced project environment and build strong working relationships across technical and delivery teams. You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).
  • Around 3-5+ years experience managing interfaces or working in a comparable engineering role on a major infrastructure, construction or engineering project.
  • Previous site-based construction experience, ideally within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated environment.
  • A good understanding of interface management principles and the challenges of delivering large, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience identifying and managing project risks and understanding their impact on programme delivery.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with excellent attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The flexibility to support a range of activities across the Interface Management function as project priorities evolve.

Why Apply?

Joining Sizewell C means becoming part of one of the UK's largest and most exciting engineering programmes. You will work alongside industry-leading professionals, contribute to a project of national importance and play a direct role in shaping the future of clean energy in Britain. As recruitment partner to Sizewell C, Morson Edge is supporting the search for talented engineering professionals who want to make a lasting impact on a project at the forefront of the UK's energy transition. If you are ready to take the next step in your engineering career and want to be part of a project that will define the UK's infrastructure landscape for decades to come, we would love to hear from you.
