Morson are proud to be working in partnership with Safran to recruit experienced CNC Turners to support the GDS programme at their Wolverhampton site. Safran is a global aerospace, defence, and space leader, employing 100,000 people worldwide. This is an opportunity to work on high-profile aerospace programmes in a cutting-edge precision engineering environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for machining components within a high-precision manufacturing environment, supporting advanced aerospace projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust 5-axis turning and milling machines
  • Monitor production quality and machine performance
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers on new part introduction
  • Follow process layouts, work instructions, and compliance standards
  • Support TPM and maintenance activities
  • Ensure material flow, tooling availability, and SWIP monitoring
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives
  • Adhere to all EHS and safety procedures

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years CNC setting & operating experience
  • Experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of 5-axis machines and inspection equipment
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds (or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team

Desirable

  • Apprentice-trained background
  • Experience with new technology or cell introductions
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset

Shift Pattern

Week 1 – Earlies: Monday–Thursday: 6:00am – 1:30pm, Friday: 6:00am – 1:00pm

Week 2 – Lates: Monday–Thursday: 1:15pm – 9:00pm, Friday: 1:00pm – 7:00pm
