We are currently recruiting for a Neighbourhood Caretaker & Bulk Collection Driver to join a leading Social Housing provider based in Lower Clapton. This role is split approximately 50% caretaking duties and 50% bulk waste collection/driving duties, making it ideal for a hands-on candidate who enjoys a varied role and working outdoors.

Duties Include

  • Keeping communal areas, estates and external spaces clean and tidy
  • Litter picking and estate inspections
  • Removing fly-tipped waste where required
  • Reporting repairs, defects and health & safety concerns
  • Supporting the upkeep of social housing estates
  • Driving a Ford Transit tipper vehicle between sites
  • Collecting and removing bulky household waste items
  • Loading and unloading furniture, appliances and general bulky waste
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle
  • Ensuring collections are completed safely and efficiently

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
  • Previous experience driving vans or light commercial vehicles
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving bulky items throughout the working day
  • Reliable and hardworking attitude
  • Good understanding of health and safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Previous experience within social housing, caretaking, waste collection or estate services
  • Manual handling training
  • Local knowledge of the area
